NEW FACES:
Washington Trust Bank has hired three people for its Private Banking Department:
Steve Scranton, who is a chartered financial analyst with expertise in fixed income strategies and analysis, was named a vice president and portfolio manager for asset management services.
Steve Maggio, whose experience includes personal and institutional trust business development, joined the bank as a vice president with sales and marketing responsibilities for asset management services.
Gary Anderson was hired as a vice president with responsibility for developing personal trust and investment management business and private banking credit business.
Scott Fuller and Kevin Hyatt have joined CRI Mortgage Network Inc. as loan officers. Fuller was previously with Allstate Insurance Co. in Spokane and Hyatt previously worked for Digital Marketing Inc. in Coeur d’Alene. Betty Patton was hired as a loan processing clerk. Patton was previously with AgAmerica, Farm Credit Bank.
Jonna Yates has been named a personal financial advisor with the Spokane office of American Express Financial Advisors Inc. Yates, who earned a business degree from Eastern Washington University, has a strong background in small-business management, finance, insurance and quality client service.
Gonzaga University has hired Diane Schmitz as a development writer for foundation relations in the university relations office. Schmitz previously taught English at Washington State University, Heritage College in Toppenish, Columbia Basin College in Pasco and Yakima Valley Community College in Grandview.
Laura Bacon has joined Hampton Inn Spokane as sales manager with responsibility for coordinating conferences and groups, sales and marketing. She previously held the same position at the Quality Inn Oakwood.
Mario Ayub Touche, of Chihuahua, Mexico, has joined Metalline Mining Co. Inc.’s board of directors. Touche, who has a degree in chemical engineering, has more than 20 years of experience in the Mexican mining industry. He also is president of FENAMPAC, which is Mexico’s national association of small and medium miners.
Toni White, a real estate veteran of 11 years, has joined Windermere Real Estate’s Spokane-Manito office. White, who has owned her own firm for two years, previously worked with Century 21.
MOVING UP:
LeMaster & Daniels PLLC has appointed John Parry to head its North Idaho office, located in Coeur d’Alene. Parry, a CPA, merged his accounting practice with LeMaster & Daniels in 1995. He moved to North Idaho in 1991 after working for the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche in California.
Kathleen O’Conner has been promoted to assistant vice president at Sterling Savings Association. O’Conner joined Sterling as a corporate technical writer in 1991. She assumed responsibility for Sterling’s shareholder relations in 1993 and recently was assigned to develop and administer Sterling’s disaster recovery plan.
Potlatch Corp. has named Robert M. DeBorde vice president of its Idaho Pulp and Paperboard division. DeBorde, who has been vice president of the company’s Pulp and Paperboard Group for the past eight years, will relocate from Walnut Creek, Calif., to Lewiston. He succeeds G. William Morton, who has retired.
STARTING UP:
Washington Mutual Inc. has appointed the following people to staff its new Coeur d’Alene Home Loan Center:
Gail Brown, who previously served as manager of Washington Mutual’s Richland Financial Center, was named manager and assistant vice president. Brown, who has more than 20 years of experience in banking, will oversee management and operation of the loan center as well as loan production and business development.
Randy Davis, who previously served as manager of Washington Mutual’s Medford Home Loan Center in Oregon, was named external loan representative. He joined Washington Mutual in 1987 as a management trainee and has worked as a manager since completing the program in 1988.
Robert Henley, formerly manager of Washington Mutual’s Sullivan Road Financial Center in Spokane, also was named an external loan representative. He has nearly 20 years of experience in banking.

Dr. Frank B. Kimball, an anatomic/ clinical pathologist from Hayden Lake, was elected president of the Idaho Medical Association. A member of the IMA Board of Trustees since 1989, Kimball previously served as trustee for District One.
