$17 Million Lotto Winners Plan To Share Wealth Anonymously
A Seattle couple who won a $17 million Lotto jackpot want to use the money to help others - anonymously.
After realizing they had won Saturday’s jackpot - the largest Lotto jackpot in Washington state in more than two years - they called their lawyer, William Cruzen.
Cruzen divulged little about the winners, except to say they are an unmarried, professional couple in their 50s who live in north Seattle.
The couple gave the ticket to Cruzen. He kept it in a vault for two days before confirming the winning numbers with lottery officials.
On Thursday, he collected the couple’s first check for $612,000 after taxes.
Although they want to remain anonymous, the couple hope to share their wealth, Cruzen said.
“Their position is, with money comes a lot of responsibility,” Cruzen told The Seattle Times.
