Former Faa Employee Takes Plea Bargain, Avoids Prison
A former Federal Aviation Administration employee accused of using his position for profit has been spared a prison sentence.
Under a plea agreement, Pavol Forgac, 36, pleaded guilty in federal court on Friday to two misdemeanors - conflict of interest and failure to file his income tax. He was sentenced by U.S. Magistrate David Wilson to three years probation.
Forgac, now of San Diego, originally was charged with 20 federal felony counts of conflict of interest, mail fraud and failure to file federal income tax returns.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office accused him of using his position as an aerospace engineer for the FAA’s Aircraft Certification Office in Renton to obtain information about a ground proximity warning system. Forgac then used the information to build and sell his own system, federal prosecutors said.
