Man’s Body Pulled From Spokane River

An autopsy will be performed today on the body of a man found floating in the Spokane River.

Someone walking along Aubrey L. White Parkway west of the city spotted the body swirling in an eddy near the sewage treatment plant about 12:45 p.m. Monday.

Sheriff’s detectives said the body, believed to be that of an elderly man, had been in the water for more than a week, sheriff’s spokesman Dave Reagan said Tuesday.

“There was no readily apparent indications of foul play or suicide,” Reagan said in a statement.

Detectives hope to use fingerprints to confirm the white man’s identity. , DataTimes MEMO: The man was tentatively identified as Bernard John Aurzada.
