Churches Plan Special Services For Holy Week

Holy Week begins on Sunday, otherwise known as Passion Sunday or Palm Sunday, and some North Side churches are planning special services during the week. When making plans to attend any of these special events, don’t forget to set your clocks one hour ahead Saturday night.

Here are some of the services:

The children of North Hill Christian Church, along with the choir, will participate in a processional into the church at the start of the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

The church is located at 4620 N. Post.

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 545 E. Providence, will host a penitential service at 7:30 p.m. today. The church will also host the stations of the cross at 6 p.m. on Friday.

The Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church will host a short worship service during the lunch hour during Holy Week. The services will run from noon to 12:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The church is located at 312 W. Hawthorne Road.

Mary Queen Catholic Church will host a Passion Sunday breakfast this week. The meal will be served from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. The cost of the meal is $4 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. For more information, call the church at 483-4384. The church is located at 3423 E. Carlisle.
