Two people were injured Wednesday after their motorcycle collided with a car in west Spokane County, the Washington State Patrol said.
Jason P. Bowman, who is stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base, was headed east on Highway 2 when he tried to pass two vehicles at the intersection of the highway and Wood Road.
He crashed his Honda motorcycle into a car in the westbound lane. The accident occurred at 5:50 p.m.
Bowman, 27, broke his right foot and hand, and suffered lacerations to his right arm. He was taken to Deaconess Medical Center, the WSP said.
His passenger, Rebekah Zarate of Spokane, was taken by helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where she was in serious condition Thursday.
The 20-year-old suffered lacerations to her forehead, scalp and knees. Zarate, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, also broke her right arm and foot.
The driver of the car, Susan Harper of Spokane, was trying to turn right on to Wood Road.
