Suspicious Homeowner Shot
A man was shot in the torso with his own gun early Sunday when he confronted two teenagers outside his home, police said.
The man told officers he heard and saw two boys prowling around his truck around 4 a.m., city police said in a news release. The man’s name was not released.
When the man went out to confront the boys - he described them as being between 14 and 18 years old - one of them was holding a loaded rifle that had been taken from his truck, police said.
The man was shot once after a brief struggle. He was in stable condition Sunday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
He called police shortly after the shooting, but officers could not find the teens. The rifle was recovered at the scene.
