Irs Extends Hours

From Staff

With little more than a week to the April 15 tax-filing deadline, the Internal Revenue Service has announced extended hours for its area assistance centers.

The agency’s Spokane office, located near the U.S. Courthouse lobby, will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the office opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m.

Taxpayers can pick up forms or receive last-minute assistance with returns or filing extensions. They can also file completed returns with payments at the IRS offices.

The agency will forward them to Ogden, Utah, for processing.

Those in need of help can also turn to one of several Tax-Aide locations around the area. For information on times and locations, call 1-(509)-353-0529. A number published in the Saturday paper was incorrect.
