Driver, 14, Couldn’T See The Light

A 14-year-old boy was arrested after he drove through Rockford at 1 a.m. Monday with no headlights or taillights.

A sheriff’s deputy stopped the 1985 Nissan Pulsar on Stringham Road when he noticed it had no lights. The underage driver didn’t know how to turn them on, according to the police report.

The car belonged to the Rockford boy’s 24-year-old cousin, deputies said. The 14-year-old apparently took it after the woman went to bed.

Deputies arrested the teen for taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission, a felony, and for driving without a valid driver’s license.

He was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center.
