New faces:

Ben Cozza has been named network analyst at Farm Credit Services. His responsibilities include supporting Windows NT workstation and server. Cozza, who received a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Eastern Washington University, previously was a technical support specialist for Olivetti North America.

Studio H Advertising and Design in Coeur d’Alene has hired Tom Latham as a graphic designer. Latham, who specializes in logo design, will do prepress and layout work. A graduate of Kansas State University, he was previously a designer for RPI in Kansas.

Lori Kempe has joined Dakotah Direct Inc. as a voice systems analyst. Kempe, who was previously a communications supervisor/analyst at Sacred Heart Medical Center, will assist Dakotah’s voice engineering team.

Steptoe, Wash.-based Micro-Ag Inc. has named John Morgan of Colfax as general manager. Morgan, who has been a wheat grower for nearly 40 years, received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from Washington State University.

The Spokane office of Coopers and Lybrand L.L.P. has added the following people to its staff:

Scott Brunson, a graduate of Brigham Young University, was hired as a business assurance associate.

Matt Colbert, also a business assurance associate, is a graduate of the University of Idaho.

Clint Marshall, who graduated from the University of Idaho, also joined the firm as a business assurance associate.

Linda Thrash is serving a Tax Department intern. Thrash, a student at Eastern Washington University, will join the firm full time in September.

Spokane chiropractor Gina Yaritz has been appointed to the Washington State Chiropractic Association Board of Directors. Yaritz will represent District 5, which encompasses the greater Spokane area. Yaritz, who has been in practice for six years, operates Central Chiropractic with her sister, Dr. Debra Yaritz.

Moving up:

The following employees of the Spokane office of Coopers and Lybrand L.L.P. have received promotions:

Lisa Orlando was promoted to business assurance senior associate from business assurance associate.

Lesley Ackerman was promoted to tax senior associate from tax associate.

Sandy Murphey has been promoted from project manager to managing associate at Design Source Inc. Murphey, who has been with the firm for six years, also has been awarded certification status by NCIDQ, the National Council of Interior Design Certification.

The dean of the School of Social Work and Human Services at Eastern Washington University, Michael Frumkin, has been named acting provost and vice president for academic affairs at the university. Frumkin will continue to serve as dean and as assistant vice provost for Inter-Institutional Academic Program Planning, a position he has held for the past year.

Klundt Hosmer Design has been hired by Itronix Corp. to serve as its agent in developing corporate marketing and communication products for both print and electronic media. They will develop Itronix corporate identity products, national print advertising, direct mail marketing, Web site, CD-ROM, desktop presentations, trade show displays and other marketing and communications materials.

Elected:

The Inland Empire Chapter of the Land Surveyor’s Association of Washington has elected the following officers for 1998: Rudy Kitzan, Hahn Engineering, president; Ramon Welborn, city of Spokane, vice president; Todd Pocock, Simpson Engineers, secretary; and Chris Lampe, Wyatt Engineers, treasurer.

New officers of the Inland Northwest Catering Association include: President, Dennis Little, Catered Ambiance; vice president, Dan Davis, Alliant Food Service; secretary/membership coordinator, Jennifer Weinmeister, Bayou Brewing Co.; and treasurer, Julie Raftis, Bayou Brewing.

Kudos:

The Spokane advertising agency of Warner Birchell and Hall has received two national awards for excellence in advertising for work produced on behalf of Yoke’s Food Stores. The agency received two Creative Choice Awards at the National Grocers Association’s February convention in Las Vegas.

Coldwell Banker Grand Realty has been awarded the Coldwell Banker President’s Award of Honor, one of only 277 residential affiliate firms selected out of more than 1,536 Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp. companies. The designation is awarded to companies which attained adjusted closed gross commission income of $1,000,000 to $3,249,999 during 1997.
