Backcountry Horsemen

The Inland Empire Backcountry Horsemen have put together a one-day fair to help equestrians “Get Ready to Ride.”

The event is April 25 at the Playfair Race Track and will provide equestrians with a chance to take care of safety and legal issues.

Among the four services will be a free safety advisory inspection in the areas of lighting, breaking and hitch apparatus. The inspection will be conducted by the Washington State Patrol and will be advisory only. No citiations will be issued.

There will also be a brand inspection, which is mandatory for all horses and mules crossing the state line; a health inspection and Coggins Test, also mandatory; and vaccinations.

Participation in the event is by appointment only. You must have a registration form postmarked by Wednesday. Info: (509) 276-8978.
