Recreation trail users will be asked to pay trailhead parking fees on the Umatilla National Forest starting May 1.

Trail Park Pass permits will be required at 49 specified trailheads on the forest. The cost to recreation trail users is $3 for a day pass and $25 for an annual pass, and are available at all Umatilla National Forest Offices.

The passes will allow visitors to park at many other national forest trailheads in Washington and Oregon in 1998. Trail Park passes will not substitute for other permits.
