Dollar Hits 11-Week Low Vs. Mark

The dollar fell against other major currencies Tuesday, sinking to an 11-week low against the mark as the German and Swiss currencies gained ground on perceptions European economies are strengthening.

The dollar fell against the Japanese yen during Asian trading on lingering fears of central bank intervention pending the release Friday of further details on Japan’s economic stimulus package.

Economic reports from Germany led investors to feel that Germany’s economy was gaining strength.
