Gates Foundation Funds Population Control

A foundation started by Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates will give $1.7 million to a United Nations program that promotes population control in the Third World, the United Nations announced Wednesday.

The money, to be made available from the William H. Gates Foundation over a three-year period, will promote the sharing of population-control technology and information among developing countries, a United Nations Population Fund statement said.
