Dollar Slips Against Yen

The dollar on Thursday rose against major European currencies for the second straight day as traders sold the German mark and Swiss franc to gain Japanese yen, thus weakening their strength against the dollar.

The dollar slipped against the Japanese yen in lackluster trading characterized by skittishness about details of an economic stimulus package the Japanese government will unveil today.

On Thursday, investors in European currencies decided to take profits, which helped make the yen stronger in its trades with the dollar.
