Joint Bible School Planned By Three Churches
Even though the trees have only recently started showing new leaves and flowers are just opening their buds, planning is already under way for the tri-parish Vacation Bible School in June.
The school requires a lot of coordination and planning because it brings together kids from three different churches as well as the surrounding community. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will host the joint Bible school, with different age groups meeting at different churches.
The school will run June 22-26 and is open to all children age four through the sixth grade. The theme of this year’s school is “God’s Kids Pray: H.O.P.E. (Hear Our Prayers Everywhere) World Tour.” Registrations are now being accepted.
The cost is $6 per child or $15 per family if registered before June 8. Late registration is $8 per child and no family discount will be available.
More than 200 students are expected this year and volunteers are needed.

Walk benefits Meals on Wheels
The 1998 Crop Walk will take place on Sunday on the Centennial Trail. Participants in the walk have collected sponsors for a 10k or 2k walk. The annual walk will begin at Gonzaga University’s Martin Center.
Twenty-five percent of all money raised will be divided among the Spokane Food Bank, Valley Meals on Wheels and the Interfaith Hospitality Network.
The remaining funds will benefit Church World Services’ overseas relief and development programs.
Last year’s event raised $22,715.
