Task Force Finds ‘Missing’ Woman Alive

A woman reported missing and being sought by a serial slayings task force has been found alive, a police official said Friday.

The woman’s name was given to the task force on Wednesday as someone who may be missing, but she has been located and is “alive and well,” said Capt. Doug Silver, a task force commander.

The task force, made up of police and sheriff’s officers, is investigating the presumed serial slayings of six women in Spokane and one in Tacoma since last fall. All the bodies had been shot and dumped in rural areas.

“At this time, the task force has no one listed as missing,” Silver said.
