Midweek Service Has Car, Potluck Dinner

Valley Assembly of God, 15618 E. Broadway, will host a potluck dinner before the 7 p.m. Wednesday worship service each week during this month. The outdoor meal will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The services will be based on “Lessons I’ve Learned.”

A drag racing car will make a special appearance during the month.

St. John Vianney rummage sale

St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 503 N. Walnut Road, will host a rummage sale today. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gospel music worship service

Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye, will host a special gospel music worship service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

A collection of old favorites will be performed by Try-Harmony, a trio of women from the church.

A church picnic will take place after the service. Hamburgers will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

The highlight of the afternoon will be the dunk tank. The pastors will be perched in the tank and $1 will buy three balls to try and send them splashing down.
