Man Rams Wheelchair Into Widow To Get Help

A man rammed his wheelchair into a plate-glass window Sunday morning trying to summon help after being robbed of his pain medication, according to Spokane Police.

The 43-year-old victim and two other men were drinking beer near Pacific and Browne streets about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to police.

The victim’s two drinking companions robbed him after learning he had two bottles of prescription medicine. One of the medications was for pain.

After being robbed, the victim yelled for help then drove his wheelchair into the glass front door of an apartment on South Browne. An apartment occupant called police.

The victim was cited for malicious mischief. He was not booked into jail.

The first suspect was described as a white man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and heavyset. The second suspect was described as a black man, in his 30s, about 5-feet-8-inches tall and thin.
