Tracy Jewelers Adds Second Store
Tracy Jewelers is adding a second store at the corner of Sullivan and Sprague.
The full-service jewelry store has been at the corner of Sprague Avenue and Argonne Road for 48 years. The expansion will be a way to capture the growing east Valley and Liberty Lake market, said owner Maureen Tracy.
The new 1,500-square-foot store will open in the Sullivan Square shopping center at Sprague and Sullivan Road on about Oct. 1.
“We’re needing more space,” Tracy said. “Two locations will be better.”
The store will handle jewelry, watch and clock repairs and manufacturing.
Hideout restaurant has 1940s theme
The former Sea Galley restaurant across Sprague Avenue from University City Shopping Center is now the Hideout restaurant and Just One More lounge.
Owners William and Shirley Hathaway and Amanda and Gary Lindgren opened the new 1940s-theme restaurant and sports-theme bar on Aug. 3.
A 1931 Studebaker sits in the lobby.
And what’s with the name?
“Because that’s all you hear in a bar. ‘Just one one more,”’ said co-owner Amanda Lindgren.
The restaurant is serving up American fare, ranging from hogies to steaks, prime rib and barbecue. It also serves breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
The lounge is open from 6 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Staples looking at site near mall
Staples office supply store is eyeing a site at Hanson Center, just east of the Spokane Valley Mall.
A building permit was applied for with Spokane County Building and Planning Department on July 27 for a 24,519-square-foot store at 15224 E. Indiana.
Staples officials would not comment about plans for a Valley store. No lease has been signed yet, said Staples spokeswoman Kathy Montal.
“At this point, it’s being negotiated,” she said.
The county has said that traffic mitigation measures, specifically funding for the Evergreen freeway interchange, must be resolved before any more buildings can go up near the mall.
