Boy Dies During Soccer Workout

A 12-year-old soccer player who collapsed and died during a practice session appears to be the victim of heart failure.

Eryc Lancaster collapsed after a typical workout for younger players.

There were 38 boys at Thursday’s training session.

Dr. Bart Adrian examined Eryc after his collapse.

“This was some type of sudden cardiac event,” Adrian said. “It probably had nothing to do with the fact that he was playing soccer.”
