Best Resigns From Cheney School Board

Cheney school board member Thomas Best has resigned from his position as director of District 5.

Best, who served on the board for three years, will leave to devote more time to his Spokane Valley metal fabrication and design company.

The district will look to fill the position by the middle of September, said Superintendent Phil Snowdon.

Applications for the position must be submitted by Sept. 9. Candidates must live in District 5 and be registered voters. The district will interview applicants Sept. 16 and appoint a new member at its regular Sept. 23 meeting.
