Cafe Owner Claims Robbery At Gunpoint
The owner of a Browne’s Addition cafe told Spokane police he was robbed at gunpoint Sunday.
The victim told investigators he had closed The Elk, 1931 W. Pacific, about 10 p.m. and was counting the day’s receipts in a basement office when he was confronted by two armed men.
The robbers, who were both wearing masks, grabbed the cash and left, according to the owner.
The bandits may have entered the restaurant through a side door, the victim told police. The man said he forgot to lock that door Sunday evening.
The victim said the robbers were black. One was about 5 feet 11 inches tall and wearing an Oakland Raiders jacket. The other was about 5 feet 6 inches tall. Officers and a police dog searched the area around the restaurant but found no one.
