A 125-acre wildfire near Springdale threatened homes Saturday before being controlled by firefighters.

No injuries or damage to buildings were reported.

The blaze started shortly after 9 a.m. along the railroad tracks, state Department of Natural Resources officials said.

About 100 firefighters battled the fire, about one mile east of town. A helicopter and planes dropped water and fire retardant.

Crews were to remain there throughout the night.
