Dollar Down In Most Markets

The dollar fell against major currencies Tuesday as U.S. stocks spent most of the day lower.

Foreign exchange investors took their cue Tuesday from falling U.S. stocks on Monday, when the Dow Jones industrial average fell more than 216 points.

Meanwhile, the dollar also was hurt by a report by the National Association of Purchasing Management showing that the manufacturing sector slowed for the sixth straight month in November.
