Gregg’S Layup Provides Difference For Wv

Chris Gregg’s layup with 2 seconds left allowed West Valley to edge visiting Rogers 77-75 in a boys non-leaguer on Saturday.

Rogers used a halfcourt trap to cut into WV’s 14-point lead in the final 7 minutes. The Pirates had a brief lead with 30 seconds left.

WV’s Kris Sly was 6 of 8 from the field, with two 3-pointers, and 6 of 6 from the line. Chris Sorensen and John Focht of the Eagles combined for 13 rebounds.

Brett Oglesbee and Sam Dempsey of Rogers combined for 52 points.

Petticrew and Vojtech also added five assists apiece. Lakeside led by 12 with 3 minutes left in the first half, but Mead pulled within four by halftime.
