Two Men Injured In Separate Assaults

From Staff

Two separate assaults sent two men to local hospitals early Saturday morning, Spokane police said.

A 19-year-old man was reported in satisfactory condition after undergoing surgery for a stab wound to his left side, police said.

In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man was treated and released after being hit in the head, police said.

According to witnesses, the first incident took place about midnight when the 19-year-old confronted a man at a party just north of Yoke’s on North Foothills Boulevard, police said. Another man walked up and stabbed the teenager in the side.

The suspect - described as a bald white male between 21 and 25, about 6 feet tall and 240 pounds with a dark goatee - fled with two other young men, police said.

The second incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center, police said.

A witness told police he and two companions were walking toward the Silver Lanes bowling alley when three or four males jumped his friend and knocked him to the ground. The man suffered a scalp injury that likely was caused by the claw end of a hammer, police said.

The witness said he had no idea why the man was jumped. Nothing was taken from the men.
