Larson Leads Badgers

Hailey Larson had nine rebounds and tied teammate Dana Robertson with a game-high nine points as Bonners Ferry defeated visiting St. Maries 40-22 in Saturday’s Intermountain League game.

Amanda Ashby added four assists for the Badgers.

The teams combined for just three points in the first quarter.

University of San Francisco-bound Carey Sauer scored 23 and Mary Lindburg added 11 rebounds as the Grizzlies defeated the unbeaten Spartans.

Halee Haptonstall added six assists and six steals for Newport. The Grizzlies shot 23 of 37 (62 percent) from the free-throw line.

Priest River had opened the year 4-0.
