First Assembly Children’S Choir Presents Musical
The holiday season continues as several North Side churches host a variety of Christmas events. Discover the meaning of Christmas at one or more of the following events.
Children’s musical this weekend
The children’s choir of Spokane First Assembly Church, 828 W. Indiana, will present the musical “Mission Possible” during performances at 7 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. The musical follows several Bethlehem children as they discover Jesus’ birth.
The performances are free and all are invited to attend.
Family Christmas at North Hill
“A North Hill Family Christmas” will be presented at 6 p.m. Sunday at North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post. The annual Christmas program will feature performances by all the choirs of the church and a festive party.
Christmas program at Audubon Park
The Sunday school classes of Audubon Park United Methodist Church will put on their Christmas program during the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.

Emmanuel holds holiday events
The women of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 1926 W. Chelan, will host a Christmas tea at 12:30 p.m. today. The event will feature a performance by the First grade singers of Audubon Elementary. The book “No Holly for Miss Quinn” will be reviewed.
The church choir will present the Christmas cantata “The Dream of Joy” during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.
Chorus of voices meet Sunday
The combined adult choirs of Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt, will present the cantata “A Candlelight Christmas” at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday.
Coeur d’Alene harpist performs
Harpist Leslie Stratton Norris will perform during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at Grace Baptist Church, 1523 W. Mallon. Norris is based in Coeur d’Alene and performs around the country.
Christmas cookies galore
If you love Christmas cookies but find yourself short on time to make them yourself, head to the Garland Alliance Church, 2011 W. Garland, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for a sale of Christmas cookies and candies. The treats will be sold by the pound, so shoppers can mix and match.
Silent retreat on Saturday
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will host a silent retreat Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The ecumenical retreat will include liturgy, meditation and silent prayer, ending with communion.
No advance registration is required and there is no charge. Those attending are asked to bring a sack lunch. For more information, call the church office at 325-5252.
