Idaho’S Wwp Rates Being Increased

From Staff

Washington Water Power Co. residential customers in Idaho will pay an additional $1.25 per month for natural gas because of a rate change state regulators approved Tuesday.

The increase, which will generate $1.1 million in revenue, took effect Monday for WWP’s 48,600 customers.

The added charges will cover the higher cost of gas to the Spokane utility over the past year.

The increase averages 4 percent, but residential customers are paying 3.65 percent more. Commercial and industrial customers also are paying more, unless their supplies can be interrupted.
