Christmas Programs Continue

The holiday season continues this week with several Christmas programs at Valley churches.

The children of the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 10814 E. Broadway, will put on their Christmas musical “Candy Cane Lane” during a special combined service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

The Sanctuary Choir will present its Christmas musical, “A Time for Joy,” during performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 19 and at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20. The performances will include everything from Southern gospel music to big band sounds.

The performances are free and open to the public.

“Christmas Eve 1998” will be presented by the adults and children of Opportunity Christian Church at 5 p.m. Sunday. The program will be followed by a potluck dinner.

The church is located at 708 N. Pines.

The Christmas program “Christmas Treasure” will be presented by the Sunday school classes of Christ Lutheran Church during the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services Sunday. The story follows a group of children who find a Christmas trunk in the attic and explore the treasures within.

A reception will follow the 10:30 a.m. service.

The church is at 13009 E. Broadway.

The Spokane Valley Assembly of God Church, 15618 E. Broadway, will present four performances of “Oh, What a Love” this week. The youth, children and adult choirs will sing at 7 p.m. today, 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday. The performances are free.

Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 10422 E. Main, will have a performance of “Hosanna Rock” at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The performance will be presented by the Youth and Children’s Ministries. A spaghetti dinner and caroling will follow.

The performance is free, the dinner is by donation.

The church’s handbell choir will also present a concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene, 8822 E. Upriver Drive, will host an evening of candles and carols Sunday at 6 p.m.

The choir of Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Road, will present the musical “White Christmas” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The free performance will tell the Christmas story.
