A little thing like a 10-point deficit didn’t shake up West Valley on Saturday.

Brad Groh scored 22 points, including a 6-for-6 effort at the free-throw line, as the visiting Eagles defeated Moscow 70-58 in the Border League.

Moscow had a 10-point lead in the first quarter. WV outscored Moscow by 14 points at the line, hitting 21 of 33 attempts.

Jeff Mitchell hit 4 of 5 free throws late in the fourth quarter and finished with five assists as the Cardinals defeated the visiting Scotties.

Jeremy Bahr and Emery Meeks had 10 rebounds apiece and scored four apiece in the first quarter to help ML build a 10-point lead. Freeman took a two-point lead, its first, late in the game before Mitchell’s free throws.
