Gifts Needed For Hillyard Complex

Paula Davis is trying to create happy holiday memories for about 170 children.

But without help, she’s afraid she’ll fall far short of her goal.

“We’re putting a Christmas together for these kids,” Davis said. “By the time their parents pay the bills, there’s nothing left.”

Davis is the tenant-council secretary for the Morayo North Apartments, a 75-unit, low-income complex on the edge of Hillyard. Within the walls are countless stories of unemployed single parents with many small children.

Davis said part of her job is to “make good things happen” for the children who live there.

She currently has about 75 gifts. She needs donations of toys, clothing or food.
