Two Men Arrested In Hit-Run Attack
Two men are believed responsible for running down a 19-year-old Rockford man Saturday, sheriff’s deputies said.
Riley M. Ennis of rural Spangle and Janson L. McElfish of Worley, Idaho, were booked into the Spokane County Jail for second-degree assault.
The two were at a party early Saturday evening when the victim and one of the men got into a fight, deputies said.
As the victim drove away, one of the suspects got into a pickup and followed him, cutting the victim off, swerving and slamming on his brakes in front of the victim’s car, deputies said.
The victim got out of his car, stepped into the roadway and gestured toward the suspect, whose car then hit him, deputies said. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Ennis and McElfish were arrested later at a local hospital, where they had taken a 21-year-old woman injured in an unrelated accident, deputies said.
Alcohol is believed to have been involved in both incidents. An investigation continues.
