Deputies Find Pot During Traffic Stop

Deputies found more than 200 grams of marijuana in the pickup of an Usk, Wash., man Tuesday during an early morning traffic stop, sheriff’s officials said.

Christopher T. McGovern, 24, was booked into Spokane County Jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Deputy Travis Hansen stopped McGovern’s car for an equipment violation about 1:30 a.m. at Lyons and Wall.

He learned that McGovern was driving with a suspended driver’s license. A 213-gram brick of marijuana fell from behind the glove box while Hansen was searching the pickup.
