Newspaper To Launch New Front-Page Features
As journalists, we’ve learned that some of the best story ideas come from our readers. So we’re looking for your help as we launch a series of stories for 1999 called the Monday Special.
On the first Monday of the month, you’ll get a glimpse of our world through the eyes of photojournalist Brian Plonka. Nature’s Rhythm will look at the details of life as it changes around us.
The next week, Second Wind will tell you of people who have taken up new jobs, hobbies or interests late in life. They’re proof that there is life after 60.
Later in the month, Then and Now will focus on a news event from the area’s past. We’ll update readers on what happened in our history and where the important players from those stories have gone.
Finally, the end of the month will feature towns throughout the Inland Northwest. Our Towns will highlight the unique character of rural living, even as cities draw all but the hard core from their hometowns.
In those wild-card months that include a fifth Monday, we’ll feature the best stories from college journalists in the area.
The Monday Special will be more distinctive with your contributions. Please write us with your suggestions on people, towns and news events to feature on Monday’s front page.
