Get The Local Angle

Fly fishing class

You can get good instruction from professionals at a fancy-dancy fly fishing school on a private stretch of stream in Montana.

But when it comes to learning how to fish local waters, you can’t beat home-grown savvy.

The Spokane Fly Fishers have scheduled their annual seven-session fly fishing course, which will run on Wednesday evenings, Feb. 18-April 1.

The course covers basic tackle and equipment before delving into various topics, including casting, entomology, ethics and specific tactics for fishing lakes and streams.

The course is limited to the first 50 registrants. Cost for the course and a booklet is $60 for adults and $40 for youths 16 and under. Sessions will be held at the Spokane Teachers Credit Union, 106 W. Nora.

Info: Bill Smith, 448-6072 evenings, or 534-8275 days.
