Fast Ferry Planned For Lake Chelan
Those too impatient or time-pressed to take the slow boat up Lake Chelan can buy just the ticket this summer. The Lake Chelan Boat Co. will operate a 50-mile-per-hour passenger ferry on the lake between Chelan, Stehekin and the North Cascades National Park, June through September.
The boat will make both early morning and afternoon runs up the lake. Seating capacity will be 49 passengers, so reservations are advised (although they are not yet being taken). For information about the schedule, write Lake Chelan Boat Co., PO Box 186, Chelan, WA 98816.

Spring in the desert
For bicyclists, Zion National Park in Utah offers rolling and flat terrain. And in May, conditions are just about perfect.
WomanTours has organized an eight-day inn-to-inn bicycle tour through Zion, Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks National Monument May 23-30. It’s an ideal tour for novice cyclists, although some level of fitness is required, since the tour covers about 225 miles in the eight days.
The tour is, of course, limited to women; for information, contact WomanTours at (800) 247-1444 or e-mail womantours@aol.com.
