Group Plans Vigil For Slain Women
A vigil for Spokane-area women who have been killed or are missing will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in Riverfront Park on the steps behind the Spokane Opera House.
Concerned Women of Spokane organized the event.
Members of the community will talk about their loved ones and the investigation into a serial killer, county social worker Lynn Everson said.
A joint city/county task force is investigating 20 unsolved killings since 1984. The deaths of four local women and one Tacoma woman are believed the work of a serial killer.
A body was found Sunday west of Spokane. The task force is investigating whether the death is connected to the others.
