Man Sentenced To 26 Years In Shotgun Death
A man convicted of murdering an Everett woman with a shotgun blast has been sentenced to more than 26 years in prison.
Paris Deshonn Perrantes, 31, was found guilty in October of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of Lorraine Mary Wood, 47, last June.
At Perrantes’ sentencing Monday in Snohomish County Superior Court, Judge James Allendoerfer said he did not believe Perrantes intended to kill Wood when he brandished a shotgun and ordered the victim and some other women from his home.
But the judge said he could find no grounds for leniency. Perrantes has eight prior felony convictions for drug and property crimes.
The sentence of 26 years and five months was the minimum punishment Perrantes faced for murder under state sentencing guidelines.
Errol Scott, Perrantes’ defense attorney, urged Allendoerfer to consider a 10-year sentence, which would have been the punishment if the jury had convicted him only of manslaughter.
