Oiler Bid Increased

Houston Rockets owner Les Alexander made a $82.5 million bid for the Edmonton Oilers and said he wants to move the hockey team to Houston.

The new bid, which comes just months after the Texan’s first attempt to buy the team failed, means the Oilers would leave the Canadian city following this season, Alexander said.

Pittsburgh Penguins president Donn Patton has resigned to pursue other business opportunities.
