Associated Press

A hospital laboratory technician was arrested after he doused his supervisor with gasoline and tried to set him on fire, police said.

The bizarre attack occurred late Monday night at Northwest Hospital.

Hospital officials and police gave this account to KING-TV:

A 33-year-old hospital courier and blood drawer got into a dispute with his supervisor. He left the hospital but later came back with a one-gallon plastic jug of gasoline.

The employee confronted his supervisor inside a the hospital laboratory and doused him with gasoline, then took matches out of his pocket.

“At that point the individual who poured the gasoline was subdued by three other employees, and the police and the fire department were called,” Dr. Richard Patton, the lab director, told KING.

No fire was started.

The victim and the people who helped subdue the employee suffered bumps and bruises and got gasoline on their clothes.
