Convertible Sportage On Tap

Kia welcomes the New Year with an all-new Sephia, a bigger and more contemporary version of the bread-and-butter Korean sedan. A new, 1.8-liter engine that puts out an estimated 125 hp is found under the hood on both trim levels, RS and LS.

Despite improvements, the Sephia’s price tag remains unchanged.

Trucks and SUVs

It’s no wonder you see so many Sportages wandering the streets - Kia’s mini sport-ute makes all the right moves. Including a new model for ‘98, a two-door convertible that promises year-round fun and utility.

Other changes include exterior detail upgrades, a new instrument panel and dual airbag.

A 130-hp 2-liter inline four continues as the only engine choice, a four-speed automatic is optional and rear-wheel ABS is standard. Base price is just $13,500, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be tricked out; the uplevel EX model can be ordered with leather.
