WCC/Big Sky basketball

Craig Johnson scored 19 points to lead Santa Clara to a 75-64 West Coast Conference victory over Loyola Mary mount Friday night in Los Angeles.

All five Broncos starters scored in double figures in the win, which enabled Santa Clara to move into a first-place tie with Gonzaga in the WCC. The Broncos are 17-6 8-3.

The Lions fell to 7-16, 3-8.

Pepperdine 65, San Fran. 61

Gerald Brown scored a game-high 24 points, including 19 in the second half, to lead the Waves to a come-from-behind victory over the Dons in a WCC game.

Bryan Hill added 19 points and eight rebounds for Pepperdine (14-9, 6-5). Hakeem Ward led USF (13-10, 4-7) with 18 points.

Weber St. 73, Montana St. 59

Four players from Weber State scored in double figures as the Wildcats defeated Bobcats in Ogden, Utah.

Damien Baskerville scored 12 points to lead Weber State (11-11, 9-3 Big Sky).

Montana State (17-7, 9-4) was led by Jamie Hooper, Mike Henry and Scott Harry with 11 points apiece.
