North Side Car Window Smashing Continues

From Staff And Wire Reports

For the second time in a week, vandals smashed car windows in north Spokane.

Police said at least 17 broken windows were reported between 9 and 11 p.m. Thursday. Up to 40 others were smashed last Friday night and Saturday morning in the vicinity of the Washington Water Power headquarters on East Mission.

Police spokesman Dick Cottam said Thursday’s vandalism occurred on North Normandie, North Mayfair, East Mission, East Sitka, East Princeton, East Courtland and East and West Olympic among other locations.

He said damages are expected to be in the thousands of dollars, which could result in felony charges. Police believe the vandalism occurred from a moving car, but they have no leads.
