Here’s a tentative list of selected committee hearings for next week. Hearings on some bills are contingent upon them passing their house of origin and being referred to committee.

Agriculture: A bill providing incentives for water-efficient irrigation systems (5527). Agriculture & Ecology: House Hearing Room A, Wednesday 8 a.m.

A bill reducing the tax on health products for animals (2479). Senate Hearing Room 3, Wednesday 8 a.m.

Crime: A bill requiring previous bail jumpers to post bail (5089); a bill making a defendant’s knowledge that a murder victim was pregnant aggravated first-degree murder (5203). Criminal Justice & Corrections: House Hearing Room E, Wednesday 1:30 p.m.

A bill authorizing courts to order evaluation and treatment of mentally ill offenders (5760). House Hearing Room E, Friday 8 a.m.

A bill allowing confessions to be admitted into evidence if substantial independent evidence establishes the trustworthiness of the statement (2362); a bill making assault of a school employee or sports official an aggravating factor for sentencing (1150). Senate Hearing Room 1, Wednesday 1:30 p.m.

Schools: A bill providing medical assistance in public schools (5258). Education: House Hearing Room A, Thursday 8 a.m.

If referred to committee, a bill requiring training for reading instruction (6509). House Hearing Room A, Friday 10 a.m. A bill protecting students’ religious rights (1230). Senate Hearing Room 1, Thursday 10 a.m.

Transportation: A bill requiring proof of auto insurance to driver’s license examiners (1195). Senate Hearing Room 2, Wednesday 3:30 p.m.
