Quake Shakes Things Up Near Mount Rainier
A small earthquake rattled an area near Mount Rainier on Sunday.
The quake, which struck at 7:15 a.m., had a magnitude estimated at 3.2, the University of Washington seismology lab reported. It was centered 10 miles west of Mount Rainier, or about 14 miles east of Eatonville, and about six miles deep in the Earth.
It was the second such quake in four days in the Puget Sound region. On Wednesday, a magnitude 3.0 quake occurred southeast of Poulsbo on the west side of Puget Sound.
