Eagle Healthy, Ready To Fly

A golden eagle will be given its freedom today after spending a month in captivity recuperating from an injured right wing.

The eagle will be released into its territory near Post Falls at 9 a.m., according to Tami M. Johnson, ranger at Farrugut State Park.

People who want to view the release should meet at the Post Falls Factory Outlet Stores east parking area at 8:45 a.m. to caravan to the launch site, Johnson said.

The eagle has been kept at the Pend Oreille Birds of Prey Raptor Rehabilitation shelter located at the park. It collided with a power line about a month ago.
