Spend six days biking through the beautiful islands of the San Juans. The Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the special trip April 5-10 for youths ages 12 to 18. Trip is limited to 14 people. Register by March 16. Cost is $219. For more information, call 625-6200.

Nominate someone for a Shining Star award, sponsored by the Spokane Regional Health District. The awards recognize individuals or school/community organizations that have contributed to the community by providing inspiring and effective health education activities. Individual youth are recognized for their work in peer education, community service or volunteer work. Groups and educators are recognized for specific activities, programs or curriculums.
