Airline To Offer Family Section
Responding to ultra-Orthodox Jews’ complaints about racy inflight films, Israel’s El Al airline is setting up a PG section in the rear of some planes: Cartoons and nature movies, only.
The family fare is meant for people traveling with children and for the religiously devout - and not just Jews, El Al spokesman Nachman Klieman said Tuesday.
“It could also be Christian or Muslim passengers, who wish to travel in a family atmosphere as they understand it,” Klieman said.
The milder entertainment debuts next month, when feature films no longer will be shown in the back of the airline’s Boeing 747-200 jumbo jets.
